Hello
My name is Sharon Kemp
- the heart and soul of Soul Khemistry
COACH. MENTOR. THERAPIST. CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTIST
My greatest joy has always been in the flow of creative self-expression. It has been my healer, my teacher, and the source from which I find my soulful connection with life. All forms of art expression have been integral in finding my inner sanctum and engaging more fully and confidently with others and the world.
My professional life started with attaining nursing qualifications from the University of Sydney in the 90s. I spent 25 years working in health care with an interest in paediatrics, whilst concurrently enjoying singing career as my 'side gig'. Sydney was the playground for many doorways including performing jazz, musical theatre, classical and contemporary styles. I still perform ( www.moodindigo.com.au ) and teach when I have time.
I have always extended myself creatively in many modes beyond music - and love support others to do the same. I even tried TV presenting once!
I have always been interested in the therapeutic and transformative benefits of creative expression too with a passion for finding natural ways to achieve balance and wellbeing. After a personal crisis in 2018, I was forced to leave my nursing career; the journey of recovery opened me up to the benefits of holistic therapies and the power of meditation and mindfulness. My Balinese spiritual teacher of 10 years was instrumental in this journey, helping me to deepen my meditation practice to cope with my challenges, and to understand energy as medicine to help achieve wellness. I went on to study Pranic Healing and later Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy. This gave me the qualifications and experience to work therapeutically with the arts – a dream come true. What started out initially for my own healing soon became my soul-driven heart’s desire to help others too, in a new way.
Thus, Soul Khemistry was born.
As a helping professional myself, I have worked with babies, tots, primary schoolers and teens. I've worked with those living with disabilities, physical, mental and emotional - adults with anxiety and depression through to elders trapped in dementia. So much Joy I have had supporting others. I have always adored working with young children whether nursing them, playing with them or entertaining them and though I have walked many paths my heart always brings me back to them. Its a calling from within, and now especially, with a wealth of life experience, skills, knowledge and a strong intuitive connection I return to support those who care and give and those who need their conscious care.
